Studio Workshop: Capturing Flow in Watercolour
Inspired by the breathtaking Plitvice Lakes, this watercolour 1-day class invites you to paint the wonder, rhythm, and motion of waterfalls and cascading lakes. With expressive brushwork, layered washes, and exciting textural techniques, you'll learn to bring flowing water to life on paper.
Morning session: Introduction to Flow & Directional Form
Learn to paint the movement and beauty of water in this watercolor course inspired by Plitvice Lakes. Explore visual language, brush control, and wet-in-wet techniques while creating vibrant cascades in turquoise lakes.
Afternoon session: The Power of Falling Water
Capture the drama of waterfalls in watercolour with this expressive painting study. Learn to portray flowing water using pigment and fluidity, preserve whites for light, and master the art of randomness in shadows within “The Power of Falling Water.”
Roslyn Hartwig uses a step-by-step demonstration method in her classroom to guide students through the drawing process until they have completed their work. Courses often include exercises and visual 'play' to enhance learning and creativity. Her workshops promote a relaxed and fun environment that challenges you to practice the technical aspects of watercolour. Roslyn encourages students to embrace the learning curve, emphasizing that perfection is not expected when trying a new technique for the first time.
