So comes the wave
Exhibition: “Art as a lifelong journey”
The beach has always been a favourite place to go for most Australians. Two weeks each year at the Sunshine Coast was our standard holiday during my childhood and teens. So I cannot help but paint my memories of those times.
Moving water in any natural setting is my preferred subject, and watching, then depicting the waves coming into shore is a certainty for me. This painting is an intuitive seascape and the board that I used as my surface allowed some varied and unexpected areas. I can only guide the movement of the paint and water, bringing it to a successful conclusion.
Watercolour on Ampersand board.
